Crochet Lil Darlin Baby Cardigan – free pattern
Crochet Lil Darlin Baby Cardigan Pattern by Crochet For You.
Finally, I made a cardigan pattern for 6 months old baby boys and girls. As the pattern is very simple and quick, I already have started to crochet other sizes too (12, 18 and 24 months) and I hope to share with you next couple of weeks so keep in touch. 🙂 Also, this pattern is perfect for beginners.
You just want to change the color to get a girly look or boyish look. I designed Crochet Lil Darlin Baby Cardigan with short sleeves but can be added long sleeves if you like, more info in the note section below.

Do you have this pattern for larger sizes, up to 8/10?
Love the pattern!
Thanks,
Bunzie

Hi, I don’t have larger sizes but you once follow the pattern and when you able to grab the rhythm of the pattern, I ‘m sure you can make this card in any size you want. 🙂 Thank you.

Good morning
I am having trouble interpreting your pattern instructions. I chained 60 then proceeded to Row 1. After I completed the last corner, I only have 2 chains left to do this: [ch 2, sk next ch 2, hdc in next ch 2] 2 times, turn. (40 hdc). Also I only have 36 hdc. I don’t think that I am doing the following correctly: ch 2, sk next ch 2, hdc in next ch 2, ch 2. For “sk next ch 2”, does this mean to skip the next 2 chains? For “hdc in next ch 2”, does this mean to do hdc in each of the next 2 chains?
Thanks for sharing this pattern and I hope someone can tell me what I am doing wrong.
Fran

Hi Fran, I think you misunderstand the instruction. Yes, in row 1, “sk next ch 2” means skip next 2 foundation chains. And “hdc in next ch 2” means crochet hdc in next 2 foundation chains. Did you crochet like this? If you still having trouble don’t hesitate to contact me again.

ok I got one question, is this starting at the neck, I could find no where that it tells me I am on the bottom or top or where. I really want to do this. I also had questions like fran above had and my question were the same question so you answered that part. and this chain 60 how many inches should this 60 chains be. just guessing.
Erangi Udeshika
Hi Dorty, Yes this cardigan is starting at the neck. I updated it in the pattern notes. After crocheting 60 chains, you will get about 12″ long foundation chains. It would be slightly different from mine due to the yarns you used.

I am stuck again on row 10 where it says change 2 and sk the next 11 chain spaces do I count the spaces and then after skipping the next 11 chain spaces and do 2 hd. It judy doesn’t make and sense to me sorry. Do you have any pictures showing this step. I am a visual person
Erangi Udeshika
Sorry, Dorthy, I have no pictures showing this step. but it’s easy to understand. After crocheting 2 hdc in first corner st, crochet chain 2 and yes skip next 11 chain spaces and then crochet 2 hdc in next corner st to create an armhole. (It means after crocheting 2 hdc in first corner st and chain 2, you need to crochet 2 hdc in next corner st.) You need to do this other side to create 2nd armhole.

Do you have the crochet pattern for the baby cardigan in 0 to 3 months?
Erangi Udeshika
Sorry, I have no crocheted baby cardigan in 0-3 months. If you check out the cactus baby cardigan pattern in 12 months, I think it is easy to adjust to a smaller size using DK weight yarn. Here is the pattern for Cactus Baby Cardigan >> https://www.crochetforyoublog.com/2018/04/crochet-cactus-baby-cardigan/
