More about the pattern
- I wish I could make this cowl with the colorways of Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable – Polo or Tealberry. Because those two colorways perfectly match with the upcoming season!
- As you can see Shell N Picots Scarf pattern here, I used the same pattern, but I changed the pattern a little bit when I designed this cowl. So it’s can’t be said these two patterns same at all.
- This cowl is a pretty fast pattern with 2 rows repeating. So it’s fast and can finish in one day.

When making the picot on the shell do I go from behind the 3rd double crochet or back to front?
Erangi Udeshika
Sorry, I updated the pattern and corrected this part in the special stitches as 4 dc in indicated st, ch 6, sl st to the fourth dc just crocheted, 4 dc in same st. Thank you so much for letting me know about it.

Thank you Heather, I’m going to try this one

Hi, what does “skip next ch3” mean when you’re working the very first row?
Erangi Udeshika
Hi Amy, it’s mean skip next chain 3 in foundation chain. 🙂
Lacey
Do you crochet tight? I have found that using the 6mm or the J hook makes the stitch really loose. I think next time I’ll try using an I. The scarf I’m making from this pattern using the same yarn doesn’t look the same as yours.
Erangi Udeshika
Yes! Lacey, I think I crochet little bit tight. If you think your stitches very loose for this cowl, change the hook size.
