Crochet Spider Stitch
Learning new crochet stitch is like a turning new page of the book of your crochet life. In this chapter, we are going to learn how to crochet spider stitch.
Crochet spider stitch great for blankets, afghans, washcloths, pillows, scarves and more.
You will need
- Any weight of yarns you wish to use and recommended hook size for the yarn weight you selected. You can make this with solid or multiple colors.
I used
- #4-Medium / light Worsted / Acrylic yarns
- H-8, 5mm crochet hook
And other essential materials and tools like
- Scissors
- Stitch markers
- Measuring tape and
- Yarn needle for weaving ends.
Abbreviations
- ch = chain
- sc = single stitch
- ch-1 sp = chain-1 space
- st = stitch
- sk = skip
- beg = beginning
- * to ; = repeat * to the instructions.
How to Crochet Spider Stitch
Crochet odd numbers of chain
Row 1: (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc) in second ch from the hook, *skip next ch, (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc) in next ch; repeat * to until one ch remain, 1 sc in last ch, turn.
Row 2: ch 1 (count as first st), skip first two sc, *(1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc) in next ch-1 space between two sc; repeat * to end, 1 sc in beg ch, turn. Probably you may hard to find where the ch-1 space located, this will easy if you find the V shapes legs of each sc crocheted into the one stitch in previous row, the ch 1 hid between these two V shapes. (see the photo below)
Repeat rows 2 until your desired length.
