About the pattern
The body of the hat made with hdc rounds and tapestry crochet to give more texture to the hat. This hat has so many details on it. The crown points stand up itself. The little touch of the tapestry crochet gives the nice look to the hat and the ribbed band, hdc in 3rd loop rounds too. You need two contrast colors to make this hat but I like always to use the white as the main color.

Special stitches
- hdc/sc in 3rd loop= instead of working crochet stitches in top loops of the previous round, you should find a 3rd loop on the wrong side or backside of the crochet piece. This 3rd loop is located on the wrong side just under the top 2 loops. Start to make a crochet stitch you want as normal way. When you inserting hook into the loop in the previous row just skipped the top 2 loops and turn a crochet piece forward and insert the hook in 3rd loop, Finish the stitch as normal. ?
- Picot = crochet ch 3, sl st to the previous tr you just crocheted.
- Shell stitch = (2 dc, 2 tr, picot, 2 tr, 2 dc) in indicated st.
Notes:
- These hat patterns work in bottom-up.
- Beg ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
- The first stitch of each round work in the first st of the previous round.
- Color change: just work half double crochet stitches in indicated stitch until there are only 2 loops left on the hook. Grab the new colored yarn and pull through the 2 loops, work the next half double crochet with new colored yarn just joined, over the unworked yarn, when you need to change color again, drop the working yarn when there are 2 loops on the hook and grab again other colored yarn.
