Crochet Baby Hedgehog Ragdoll Amigurumi Pattern by Crochet For You.
Here is a new member of my amigurumi collection, and he is a cute Baby Hedgehog going to join with his Mama Hedgehog. Did you see the Hedgehog Ragdoll Amigurumi I made? Aren’t they cute together?
As you can see I used light brown colors in my yarn stash. And dark brown colors for Mama Hedgehog Ragdoll. These two patterns made in the same method of Ragdoll style by joining two crocheted pieces together.

Skill Level Intermediate
Finished size: about 5.25″ from top to bottom
Materials
4-Medium weight / Worsted / in 2 colors (Brown and Cream)
(I used some leftover yarns)
- Light Brown color yarn (Approx: 100 yards)
- Cream color yarn (Approx: 50 yards)
- H-8 / 5mm crochet hook
- fiberfill
- Tapestry needle for weaving ends.
Gauge is not very important for this project
Abbreviations (US Term)
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- hdc = half double crochet
- dc = double crochet
- st = stitch
- yo = yarn over
- beg = beginning
- *to; = repeat * to the instructions.
- [ ] = work instructions within brackets as many times as directed
- Special stitches
- 4-dc popcorn st = crochet 4 dc in indicated st, drop the loop from the hook, insert the hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first double crochet of 4 dc, grab the dropped loop with the hook and pull back through the stitch, ch 1 to close the stitch.
- sc2tog = [Insert hook in next st and draw up a loop] 2 times, yarn over, pull back through all 3 loops on hook at once.
Notes
- Beg ch does not count as st.
- Gauge is not very important for this pattern.
Crochet Baby Hedgehog Ragdoll Amigurumi Pattern
(make 2)
Body
With light brown color, make an adjustable/magic ring.
Round 1: ch 1, 10 hdc into ring, sl st to the first st. (10 sts)
Round 2: ch 1, 2 hdc in each st around, sl st to the first st. (20 sts)
Round 3: ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, *hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (30 sts)
Round 4: ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, *hdc in each of next 2 st, 2 hdc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (40 sts)
Round 5: ch 1, sc in first st and each of next 10 st, 2 hdc in next st, *hdc in each of next 3 st, 2 hdc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (48 sts)
Face
Join the cream color yarn at the 12th st of the body part.
Row 1: ch 1, sc in first st and each of next 3 st, sc2tog, sc in next st, turn. (6 sts)
Row 2: ch 1, sc in first st, sc2tog, sc in each of next 3 st, turn. (5 sts)
Row 3: ch 1, sc in first st and next st, sc2tog, sc in next st, turn. (4 sts)
Row 4: ch 1, sc in first st and each of next 3 st, turn. (4 sts)
Row 5: ch 1, sc in first st, sc2tog, sc in next st, turn. (3 sts)
Row 6: ch 1, sc in first st, sc2tog, turn. (2 sts)
Row 7: ch 1, sc2tog, fasten off weave the ends.
Crochet sc in each st around the edge (do not forget to crochet the same number of stitches on both pieces)
Around the face: Start from the first st of the bottom. Join cream color yarn at the first st of the face and crochet sc only around the face and stop at the last st in same color of the face part (on the top). (To make a smooth edge, crochet 3sc in corner st of the point of the face)
Around the body: Join brown color when the last st of cream color half done, crochet sc around the body until last hdc remain, 2 sc in next (last) hdc, sc in each of next 10 st, 2 sc in last sc, sl st to the first st in beige color, fasten off. (do not forget to crochet the same number of stitches on both pieces).
Joining two pieces together
Holding two pieces together, start from the bottom. Join cream color yarn at the first st of the face. Crochet sc only around the face and join the brown color when the last st of cream color half done, and crochet sc around the body with brown color, when you half way the joining, start adding fiberfill as you go, when you reach the last st, sl st to the first st and fasten off. Weave the ends.
Popcorn edging
Join the brown color yarn at the first st in brown color at the body on the top. ch 1, sl st to the next st, *ch 1, 4-dc popcorn (see abbreviations) st in next st, ch 1, sl st to the next 2 sts; repeat * to around until there are 10 popcorn sts, sl st to the first st. Fasten off and weave the ends.
Add Features to the face
With brown color and tapestry needle, sew eyes and nose
