This easy Elvina Crochet Tote Bag is thick and sturdy for everyday use. Perfect for beach days, picnics, and farmer’s markets. The crochet tote bag is beautifully blended with modern style, featuring the modified block stitch pattern for an extra thickness of the texture.

The bag is crocheted with a modified crochet block stitch. This new way of the crocheting block stitch has no spaces between block rounds/rows so it’s great for using many crochet projects.

I used soft colors, simple and clean texture to get an aesthetic, modern looking tote bag.

Love these dots and blocks!

I love the little pops of color between the dc blocks. While using the main color for the 3-dc blocks, I used 2 contrasting colors for the sc (dots). If you want, you can add more colors to the dots rounds and block rounds. There are so many possibilities for playing with colors. Mix and match colors, you will have a gorgeous looking bag at the end.

How to crochet modified block stitch

This modified block stitch pattern has no spaces between blocks rounds. From the second round of the blocks, every 3-dc blocks working over the 2 rounds below.

Working over the chains and into the st two rounds below, start from the first st in 2 rounds below (image 1),
