Crochet Diagonal Raised Stitch Dishcloth Pattern by Crochet For You.
Happy Thursday! I have another pattern series for this month. Every Thursday of this month including today, I share free crochet dishcloth patterns.
When choosing crochet stitch for dishcloths, I myself have 2 conditions.
- the same texture on both side
- and no holes.
For today’s dishcloth pattern I used the crochet diagonal raised stitch. Crochet Diagonal Raised stitch has the same texture on both sides and no holes.

Finished size: 7.5” x 7.5”
Materials (I used):
4-Medium weight / Worsted / 100% Cotton / 90 total yards
(You can also use DK weight yarns obtain the gauge below)

- Rico Creative Cotton Aran (Banana)

- 7/ 4.5 mm crochet hook
-
- Tapestry needle for weaving ends.
- Scissors
Gauge: 17 hdc x 9 rows = 4″ with 7/ 4.5 mm crochet hook
Abbreviations
-
- ch = chain
-
- hdc = half double crochet
-
- dc = double crochet
-
- fpdc = front post double crochet
-
- bpdc = back post double crochet
-
- st = stitch
-
- sk = skip
-
- beg = beginning
- *to = repeat * to the instructions.
Crochet Diagonal Raised Stitch
Crochet multiple of 4 + 7.
Ch 39
Row 1: hdc in 4th ch from the hook, dc in each st across, turn.
Row 2: ch 3 (count as st), *fpdc in each of next 2 dc, bpdc in each of next 2 dc; repeat * to end, dc in top of the ch 2, turn
Row 3: ch 3 (count as st), *fpdc in next st, *bpdc in each of next 2 sts, fpdc in each of next 2 sts; repeat * to across until last 2 st remain, bpdc in next st, dc in top of ch 2, turn.
Row 4: ch 3 (count as st), *bpdc in each of next 2 sts, fpdc in each of next 2 sts; repeat * to across until last st remain, dc in the top of ch 2, turn.
Row 5: ch 3 (count as st), bpdc in next st, *fpdc in each of next 2 sts, bpdc in each of next 2 sts; repeat * to across until last 2 sts remain, fpdc in next st, dc in the top of ch 2, turn.
Row 6: ch 3 (count as st), *fpdc in next 2 sts, bpdc in next 2 sts; repeat * to across until last st remain, dc in the top of ch 2, turn.
Row 7 – 19: repeat row 3 to 6 continuously.
Last row for finishing
Row 20: ch 1 (count as st), hdc in each st across. Fasten off and weave the ends.
P.S. can you name crochet stitches that have same texture on both sides but no holes?
