Sugar Candy Stripes Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern by Crochet For You

This is the last and 4th pattern of Sugar Candy Stripes theme I shared with you. The series started with a newborn baby hat and then baby booties. The most popular pattern was the baby dress or it can be called a sweater if you add sleeves.

Now you can make a darling baby set with these four patterns !!!

Row 5 to 65: repeat 3 and 4 rows alternatively by changing colors after every 2 rows.

Last row (66): ch 1 with the same color you used in the previous row, *sc in next 3 dc, ch 1, sk next ch 3, 3 dc in next ch-3 space, ch 1 * repeat *to* across, sc in beg ch 3.

Border (work in rounds)

Round 1:

  • Crochet sc around evenly.
  • 3 sc in each corner st.
  • When you start to crocheting on sides of the blanket, work 2 sc in 1 side-dc, however, if it going to be tighter, you can add extra st in after 2 or 3 sts.
  • sl st to first st.

Round 2 to 3: ch 1, sc in each st around except 4 corner sts, 3 sc in each corner sts, sl st to first st.

After crocheting 3 sc rows, I crocheted slip st round too.

Round 4: *insert the hook in next st pull up a loop through the work and the loop on the hook at once* repeat *to* around. Fasten off and weave the end.

Cotton Yarns from knitpicks.com

Pattern updated.

I have done another round for the border part to get an extra pretty look. You can try it if you like. It’s very simple. Do not fasten off when you finished the last row of the border. Crochet *ch 3, sk one st and sl st to next st* repeat *to* across. Fasten off and weave the ends.
