Happy Monday to you all. 🙂 Well, If something starts, there is an end too. So, my friends, this is the end of Christmas Ornament Mini CAL with this Rudolf the Reindeer ornament patterns. I have a mixed feeling right now, sad and happy. When we start this CAL, I told you this would be fun, and I hope so.
While crocheting these easy little cute patterns I hope you enjoy it. 🙂 Thank you very much for participating with me this 6 weeks. And thank you for all the nice comments and encouragements. 🙂 We had a great time at the events on Crochet For You FB page and Ravelry. I enjoyed and excited to see your finished projects there.

Materials
- Sport or DK weight yarn in Red and White colors
- Small amount of Red and Black or Brown color yarns
- 4mm crochet hook
- Fiberfill
- Safety eyes
- Tapestry needle
Abbreviations/special stitches
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- st = stitch
- sl st = slip stitch
- sk = skip
- beg = beginning
- (C1) = color 1
- (C2) = color 2
Special stitches
- sc2tog = Insert hook in (first st, if you are at the beginning of the row) or next st and draw up a loop. Insert hook in next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, pull back through all 3 loops on hook at once.
Notes
- Beg ch does not count as st.
- Less than 30 yards required for this pattern.
Crochet Rudolf the Reindeer
(Make 2)
With (C1), Make a magic ring.
Row 1: (work in row) ch 1, 4 sc into the ring, turn. (4 sts)
Row 2: ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in last st, turn. (6 sts)
Row 3: ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (6 sts)
Row 4: repeat row 3.
Row 5: ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 4 sts, 2 sc in last st, turn. (8 sts)
Row 6: ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (8 sts)
Row 7 and 8: repeat row 6.
Row 9: ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 6 sts, 2 sc in last st, turn. (10 sts)
Row 10: ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 8 sts, 2 sc in last st, turn. (12 sts)
Row 11: ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 10 sts, 2 sc in last st, turn. (14 sts)
Row 12: ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (14 sts)
Row 13: repeat row 12.
Row 14: ch 1,sc2tog, sc in each of next 10 sts, sc2tog, turn. (12 sts)
Row 15: ch 1, sc2tog, sc in each of next 8 sts, sc2tog, turn. (10 sts)
Row 16: ch 1, sc2tog, sc in each of next 6 sts, sc2tog, turn. (8 sts)
Row 17: sc2tog, sc in each of next 8 sts, sc2tog, turn. (6 sts)
Crochet sc around the edge
With (C1) crochet sc around the edge. Crochet 3 sc at the magic ring and crochet 2 sc at each sc2tog placed two side of the last row. Fasten off and weave the ends.
Joining two pieces together
Holding two pieces together, with (C1) begin with 3 sc at the 2nd st of 3 sc at the top. Crochet sc around the edge to joining two pieces. Add fiberfill while joining. Don’t forget to fill lightly. Sl st to the first st. After joining two pieces together, crochet ch 30 or 40 and sl st to the first st (made a loop). Fasten off and weave the ends.
Ears (make 2)
Using 2 strands of (C1) yarn,
Row 1: ch 2, 2sc in 2nd ch from the hook, turn. (2 sts)
Row 2: ch 1, 2sc in each st across, turn. (4 sts)
Row 3: ch 1, [sc2tog] 2 times. Cut the yarn leaving 6” yarn tail, fasten off.
Nose
Using 2 strands of Red color yarn, make a magic ring,
Round 1: ch 1, 6 sc into the ring, sl st to the first st. (6 sts)
Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, sl st to the first st. (12 sts) Cut the yarn leaving 6 ” yarn tail, fasten off.
Antler (make 2)
Using 2 strands of Black/Brown color yarn, make a magic ring,
ch 9
Step 1: sc in 2nd ch from the hook. sc in each of next st 2 sts,
Step 2: ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in next ch, sc in stem of the last sc of step 1,
Step 3: working on rest of chains-sc in each of next ch 5. Cut the yarn leaving 6 ” yarn tail, fasten off.
Join each part using a tapestry needle and yarn tails (see photo below). Attach safety eyes.
